About Mrs. Weasel

My name is Rachael.

Contrary to popular belief, my parents were not hippies who decided to let me name myself once I was old enough to form coherent words, the one of which I chose for name being "Weasel". Although I like this story a lot more, you find out the truth behind the name "Weasel" here.

I am currently eighteen years old. I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I was a self proclaimed autodidact (in other words, homeschooled) until tenth grade when I decided to go to public high school. That lasted about one semester, I quickly deemed it a waste of time, and at sixteen started attending Boise State University. I completed my freshman year there as a visual arts major with an emphasis on photography. I started working when I was fifteen and became addicted to jobs - at one point I was working three different part time jobs and a total of fifty to sixty hours a week. Eventually I settled on working in coffee shops, and I consider being a barista my real trade and passion. I'll make you the best extra dry cappuccino you've ever had the distinct pleasure of tasting!

At seventeen I left my parents' house, married a man named Dan (whom I refer to as Fluffball) on 8/1/2009, and promptly moved into a semi truck where I currently reside. I get to travel the country and sleep in a different state almost every night. It's not as neat as everyone thinks it is, and I desperately miss my family and having a bathroom.

I enjoy knitting, crafting, photography, classic country music, body modification including but not limited to: tattoos and piercings, big trucks, and cleaning out my fingernails.

I would like this blog to encompass all of the topics I enjoy reading in other blogs: personal finances - involving getting out of debt, being financially savvy, building credit, saving money, and buying a house; living frugally and green; homemaking and related things - overall craftiness, making things with my own two hands, baking and cooking, etc. Above and beyond this I would also like to include thoughts and writings on being a newlywed and marriage in general, living in a semi truck and seeing the country, life as a wildly and accomplished young person, as well as catalog some of my photography, creative writing and all of my other interests. I hope to keep things exciting and well rounded.

Cheers!
